📝: During his IG live on September 12th, 2024, mgk talked about his song "Lonely Road" and how he believes this song will reach everybody, saying he's a big believer. mgk said: "hey I'm a big believer. big believer in not goals but feelings, right. and the feeling of recording Lonely Road was one of those that felt like, it was an everybody song. so when I was pushing that narrative of like, let's go No. 1, let's go No. 1, it's not from the atypical standpoint of an artist wanting a song to blow up. it just felt like something when I was on my motorcycle and I listened to and it felt free like freeing. I don't know if it's the frequency of the song, or if it's the familiarity of the John Denver Country Roads melody and the way that that song, you know, would make me feel when I would be backstage at shows and I would see like guitar techs during the day just playing Country Roads, and there was one specific time when I saw a group of people just singing it backstage, like the unity of what music does with all these different walks of life of people. but I still do believe Lonely Road will reach everybody, and obviously it's in your hands, but it's also the universe's hands so. I guess we gotta just see what happens. but I'm still a big believer, and it's a new song, still even a month out and I just got faith.
