n this deeply personal video, I share the harrowing story of my second marriage, a relationship that began with hope but quickly descended into a nightmare. After a work-related injury left my husband unable to work, the stress and tension at home exacerbated his medical condition, leading to increasingly erratic and controlling behavior.

What started as subtle signs of trouble quickly escalated into severe issues. His constant presence at home, coupled with invasive eavesdropping on my private conversations, created an environment of fear and mistrust. The situation took a dark turn when his discipline of our daughter crossed into physical abuse. From harmful spankings to frightening episodes of aggression, including laying hands on her neck and screaming during medical emergencies, it became clear that our home was no longer a safe space.

The emotional strain was immense, especially as my daughter faced her own struggles with abandonment issues after being away from us for seven years. The final straw came when my husband threatened to leave us again, and his actions during my daughter’s vasovagal syncope episode were a breaking point.

In this video, I recount the critical moments that led to my decision to leave, including the day I threatened to call the police. I’ll also reflect on the courage it took to protect my daughter and myself and the difficult journey of escaping an abusive relationship.
