In Matthew 8:28-34 Christ shows his sovereign authority over demons. Though the two demon possessed men in the account terrified others, the demons controlling them are terrified of Jesus. After being sent out into pigs which run down a high and die, the townspeople are left with a choice: do they rejoice over those who were delivered from the power of demons and believe in Christ who has such power, or do they concern themselves more with the financial loss of pigs. The same question faces all today.
