Shooting 35mm Film in Mitte - Film February - Part 2 (Snippet 32)

Описание к видео Shooting 35mm Film in Mitte - Film February - Part 2 (Snippet 32)

Lou and I continue with our Film February series where we shoot a different roll of color film each week this month on our Canon A-1. This week we shot AgfaPhoto Vista plus 400 Color Negative Film and explored Mitte.

You can feel the history of this city as you walk around Mitte, looking at all the iconic monuments like the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the TV Tower (which, sadly for this video hid from view behind thick grey skies!).

My favorite part of this area of the city is the dichotomy of new and old architecture. I think the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders Haus - the square building with the huge circular window directly on the Spree - was the most fun to photograph of the entire day. I was able to find a few different angles to capture the building and it was really fun to play around with the reflection in the Spree.

I have to admit though that trying to make buildings come alive in this grey, chilly weather has been a bit of a challenge! Looking forward to sharing our Kreuzberg adventures with you next Tuesday :)

Question of the Week: Have you ever tried being a tourist in your own city? What did you think? For me, being a tourist in Berlin makes me appreciate how culturally rich the city is. It's so easy to forget when you just move around in your normal neighborhoods, but then when you plop yourself down in the touristy area, and see all these people who are here on their vacation, taking the time to get the most they can on their week(end) away, well it makes me remember to take advantage of all the city has to offer!
