Personal note:
In my experience, Jethro Tull always presented an excellent live show, regardless of whatever the formal line-up happened to have been. However, I was vastly fortunate enough to have seen this legendary incarnation of Tull perform many of the songs included in this bootleg recording. Evidently, the larger part of the playlist was intact from city to city, and state to state, throughout the U.S. dates, with only slight adjustments made here and there. For example: I attended one of the five concerts held at the Long Beach Arena (in Southern California), and quite happily enjoyed the event from my floor seating in the fifth row. At one point that evening, they performed "Pan Dance", which I had never heard before, and (as of that point in time) it wasn't included on any formal Tull album. (It wasn't until a couple years later when a friend gifted me with the 1976 four-song Christmas EP, on which it famously appeared.) It's interesting to note how particular songs would come in and out of the playlist. (The European phase of the 1982 tour saw the performance of "Weathercock" & "Fires At Midnight" as a medley, but unfortunately, those songs weren't part of their playlist when I saw them in concert here in the States.) As a fan of long standing, I saw the band during every tour, from 1977 thru 1991, but there were still many deep album cuts which I never got to hear performed in concert. So much the better that we've had so many wonderful live albums, anniversary box sets, and bootleg releases to help fill in some of the most notable blanks. In any case, thanks so much for watching... and you deserve an extra special thank you if you've actually read this far. -- Steve (Gothling1955)
