Why is Timestamp important in Splunk?

Let's understand, Why is Timestamp important in Splunk.
Here, we have events from three different logs:
frontend .log
backend .log
Database.log
Even though the data in these logs are interrelated, there are no common fields or values that can relate to all 3 log files.
It's a bit hard for any human eye to understand the pattern or the relation between these log files.
However, if this data is re-arranged based on the timestamp, We can see the pattern & the correlation between the log files.
This is one of the main reasons why Timestamp is important in Splunk.
Timestamp is also used to create timeline histograms in splunk web.
As the events have timestamps, we can filter data by setting a time range, while executing the search. For example, we can search for events that are indexed today, in the last 7 days, or last 30 days.
