Lebanon's police forces have received one million dollars worth of equipment from the United States.
The aid package is intended to help officers secure the country's borders.
STORYLINE:

Members of Lebanon's Internal Security Forces have taken delivery of one million US dollars in new equipment.
And the officers already look at home on their new speed boat.
The equipment is part of a US aid package that has now topped 220 million US dollars, making Lebanon the fifth-biggest recipient of American military assistance.
The US national anthem rings out across the forces' barracks in north Beirut during a ceremony to mark the handover of the gear.
US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard explains how the defence equipment will be used.
"It will help the ISF secure Lebanon's borders, something that is especially critical at this time of such instability in the region," she says.
Richard says it will help the ISF to become a "more sophisticated, capable, and professional police force".
The United States delivered more than 25 million US dollars worth of military aid, including heavy artillery, to the Lebanese army last year to help it fight jihadist groups which have repeatedly battled with security forces near the Syrian border.
Fighting between Islamic State and other militant groups in Syria often flares up in the mountains along Lebanon's northern frontier and the violence has periodically spilled across the border.
