Today we install a Pre-Tuned UniChip Uni-X module from HD Automotive to this 1HD-FTE HDJ100 Toyota Landcruiser. This video runs over the installation process and procedures in ensuring you can successfully install this module to your vehicle. This is also suitable for the HDJ79 & HDJ78 Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier.

We have successfully tuned hundreds of Toyota Landcruiser’s fitted with the 1HD-FTE engine. This means that we have tuned just about every setup you could possibly imagine two, three, maybe even 100+ times! This intense focus on this specific range of products and tuning on the 1HD-FTE engine paired with our Multi-Mapping (5 Map Select) options and comprehensive performance packages has allowed us to develop a series of pre-tuned Uni-X modules that will replicate known and highly tested engine combinations giving you maximum potential gains while maintaining reliability and safety.

Benefits of the Unichip Uni-X Platform

Coolant Temp Protection
The Unichip knows your coolant temperature via a voltage input from the ECU which is read from the engine’s sensor. This allows us to de-rate the tune when the engine is cold or even worse, hot. This feature is fully inbuilt and an autonomous function unique to the Unichip ECU. No user input is required.
5 Map Select
One of our favorite features of the Unichip Uni-X is that it allows us to offer 5 completely different tunes at the touch of a button. This means you get to have your full send party tune which may be 400+HP at the wheels, and still lend the car to a mate on the 200HP tune. Typically the tunes are offered as follows,
Tune 1: Power + Hard Cut Limiter (Heavy focus on HP & Torque)
Tune 2: Tow (Leaner AFR, still maintains a focus on HP & Torque)
Tune 3: Eco (Lean AFR, heavy focus on fuel efficiency)
Tune 4: 4×4 (Same as power, but offered with a doughy throttle down low to reduce bouncing on the pedal in off-road conditions).
Tune 5: Stock (Or as stock as possible with larger injectors, this may be say, 200HP, where as a true stock power level may be 130-160HP at the rear wheels).
