The human spine is made up of a series of bones. divided into three categories, the bones are stacked up in the regions of cervical spine, lumbar spine, and thoracic spine. the base is supported by sacrum and coccyx. The discs provide support and act as a cushion for the bones. the disc is composed of tough outer portion and an inner soft portion. The inner portion consists of gelatin like material and is surrounded by a ring. in the cases of weakness and injuries, the inner portion of the disc may protrude out of the outer ring that leads to pain and discomfort

causes of slip disc

There could be many reasons behind development of slipped disc in an individual. With the increasing age, the outer ring of the disc may weaken and allow the materials inside to slip out. it can also slip out due to varied motions. twisting and turning while lifting objects, lifting heavy objects, being overweight, sedentary lifestyle, and weak muscles are some factors that lead to development of slipped disc. the discs also start losing protective water content that might lead to slipping of inner contents more easily.
