Heather Von St. James was 36 years old and had just given birth to her only daughter when she was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a deadly cancer caused by asbestos. She contracted it from secondhand exposure as a child; her father worked in construction and his clothes carried the dust from the asbestos. Now, asbestos could be making a comeback in the United States as the EPA loosens regulations for new products containing asbestos. Soledad O’Brien sits down with St. James and Mary Hesdorffer, the Executive Director of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, to discuss the dangers.
