In this video I show a special scenario of concurrency pattern when you only need one goroutine to do the work when multiple goroutines might be trying to do the same. In that case the first goroutine does the work and the others simply wait for it to finish. Once it finishes, it can broadcast the result by closing the channel so that other goroutines are notified and get the result without actually doing the work.
