HOW TO SAY “GOOD” WITHOUT SAYING “GOOD”?
The word “good” has many shades of meaning and we use it when we talk about people (he is a good person), things (this phone is good), food (the pizza was good), events (the party was good). Okay! There’s nothing wrong with it, but as you learn English, you may not want to get stuck saying the same basic word. So, let’s improve your English vocabulary today!


1. When you talk about a person and that person is good in a way that they are kind in behavior or action, you can use the words kindhearted, thoughtful, generous, and amiable instead of saying the words "good".

2. When a person is good because they have skills or talent (ex. he is good at work, she is a good artist), you may want to use the words skilled, adept, and gifted instead.

3. If the person’s appearance looks good, you can say that the person is attractive, charming, or gorgeous.

4. When bought something from the store, and you found that thing is good in a way that it has a high-standard quality, you can say excellent, exceptional, or perfect.

5. If the thing is good in a way that it is useful for a particular purpose, you can say convenient, effective, or beneficial instead of saying "good".

6. If the food is good or pleasing to taste, you can say it's delicious, appetizing, or delectable.

7. If you hear a speech from someone (probably a famous person), and you think the message of the speech is good, don’t just say “the message is good”, instead you can say, powerful, meaningful, or striking.

8. When it comes to fashion, we tend to say someone is wearing a good piece of clothing, but we can be more descriptive with words like stylish, chic, trendy, or elegant.

9. If the weather is good, like it's not too hot nor too cold, you can say balmy, pleasant, or clement.

10. If the movie is good, you can say it's enjoying, fascinating, or thought-provoking instead of just saying it's "good".
