The CBDT has notified new norms for filing tax returns. The modifications include allowing individuals to file revised returns on undisclosed wealth under section 153. In addition, taxpayers will need to report virtual digital assets (VDA) details while filing ITR for Assessment Year 2023-24. Moreover, the forms have also been amended to include additional questions relating to the selection of the new regime. The income tax department wants to know whether you opted in or out of the new tax regime in the past. The said move allows taxpayers ample time to prepare for relevant disclosure.
