This is a somewhat unusual Caruso recording. The great tenor did not often venture outside the Italian and French repertoire. Linguistically, it is a bit of a hodgepodge: an Italian tenor singing a Russian aria in French. I doubt , to be honest, if this recording occasioned any suicides among Russian tenors, but it is nonetheless interesting as a curiosity, simply because it is the great Caruso.
