Bora Bora: Inside a traditional Ahima’a diner | SLICE

Описание к видео Bora Bora: Inside a traditional Ahima’a diner | SLICE

It is THE traditional Polynesian cooking method par excellence! The Ahi ma’a is an oven used to prepare dishes for celebration.
A hole is dug in the ground and filled with pieces of wood and volcanic stone. A layer of banana leaves is arranged over the hole, and the ingredients are placed on top to cook.
It might require a lot of work and time, but the result is worth it!

We took our camera to Bora Bora, and joined a family in this moment of gathering, to observe each step of this delicious dish made with love.

No comment, just the taste buds fully alert!
