I'm at the piano, now what?! Blues Edition- The Riff Part 1

Well, you're still at the piano, so that's a great thing! If you have been following this series, you are slowly building up your Blues chops. This video follows the one on swing eighth notes. (which follows the ones on learning to keep a steady beat and moving the left hand through a 12 bar blues pattern)

Once you have mastered swing eighth notes, the next step for the Blues is creating little snippets of melodies called riffs.

The elements you will be playing around with are the blues scale and swing eighth notes. Each of the riffs in this example are one bar.

The goal is to be able to play short riffs evenly and repeatedly.

There are 7 different examples of riffs here, and they are all meant to be played over a C blues. (video coming soon)
