Relive the Mela, Carnival / Festival of Company Bagh Liaqat Bagh, which is no more. There used to be a Big Mela on Every Eid ul Azha and Baqr Eid from 1950 till 1980s, where Famous Folk Singers of Pakistan such as Alam Lohar , Baali Jatti , Inayat Hussain Bhatti used to sing on stage, where the famous CIRCUS used to take place. A local zoo used to be placed which had Lions, Elephants and Beers. There was a beautiful park just next to Gawalmandi (New Gawalmandi Daryabad), which was just 20 feet away from the place. It was called Company Bagh, it was the main park for Arya Mohalla, College Road and Gawalmandi of Rawalpindi. Now the old Park of Gawalmandi is turning into a Garbage and Waste dump taken from Raja Bazar Rawalpindi.
There was Jang press in Gawalmandi, belonging to Jang Group of Pakistan, which is a leading Newspaper & TV News channel (GEO TV, JANG NEWS) Mir Khalil ur Rahman used to daily come here and work. Memories of Mir Khalil ur Rahman are discussed in detail. Jamshed Gulzar Kyani, core commander Rawalpindi used to live here. Most of the Writers of Jang News used to Live here in Madanpura Gawalmandi.
