It’ll likely be Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli leading the line, unless Kai Havertz shakes off his illness in time to make a surprise return.

The situation gets even trickier with Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, and now Ethan Nwaneri all sidelined due to injuries. This has Arsenal fans practically begging for the club to go all-in during the January transfer window.

Nwaneri’s injury against Brighton only adds to the headache, as Arsenal now have the tough job of finding someone who can step up and fill the Saka-sized gap in the squad.

Even though it’s clear Arsenal need another winger, most fans seem more excited about the idea of landing a new striker before anything else.

Well, according to the Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, Arsenal have made a move for 23-year-old Igor Jesus on loan. The guy’s got talent, and he’s been on the club’s radar since Edu’s time, with some fans hoping he could follow in Martinelli’s footsteps.

Igor Jesus returned to Brazil last summer to play for Botafogo after a stint in Dubai. He’s been in great form, earning four caps for Brazil along the way.

Apparently, Arsenal recently submitted a six-month loan bid for him, with an obligation to buy for €20m (£17m). But here’s the catch – Botafogo said no. They’re only willing to let him go permanently this month.

The offer reportedly came through the player’s representatives, likely as a quick response to Saka’s recent injury blow.
