Hello! We made our way to the WA Museum and also the Pinot Palooza x Mould Cheese Festival. I have been wanting to go to this festival since I missed out last year and it was such a delicious experience! We also got around to a lot of home cooking so I decided to pop down how we made them if you're interested in trying!

🍋🧄🍝 LEMON AND SHIITAKE MUSHROOM PASTA

300g fresh shiitake mushrooms
Minced garlic
300g fresh pasta
Extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 whole fresh lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: parmesan

Steps: Fry sliced up mushrooms in olive oil and once they start browning, add butter and garlic. Cook your pasta as per cooking instructions - with fresh pasta we boil the pasta in heavily salted water for about 3-4 minutes until al dente and strain and keep aside once done. Once mushrooms are browned and the garlic cooked through, turn the gas off and add in the zest of one lemon. Add in the strained pasta and squeeze over lemon juice to your liking and season with salt and pepper.

🥬🥕🫕 CHINESE WATER CRESS SOUP - Slow cooker

500g-1kg pork ribs - we like a mix of soft bone and lean
5 red dates
1 tbsp south apricot kernels
1 tsp north apricot kernels
2 tbsp goji berries
2 tsp minced garlic
Soy sauce, white pepper and salt to taste
1 large bunch of Chinese watercress, washed and chopped up into smaller pieces
2 carrots peeled and chopped up into large chunks

Steps: Blanch pork ribs (chopped into individual ribs if you get a rack) in a large pot of boiling water for at least 5 minutes. Scoop out skum with thin mesh sieve. Boil until skim stops appearing. Pop all ingredients into slow cooker. Fill up to top of slow cooker with water and leave on low for 8 hours+. Bring to boil / place on high before you want to eat. Season to taste with soy sauce and salt and pepper.
