Something Corporate - If You C Jordan (Brooklyn Steel, NYC 6/20/24)

Something Corporate's Reunion tour has been 20 years in the making. They kicked it off in none other than Brooklyn baby! I was hugely obsessed with the band's music throughout high school but never got a chance to see them live, TIL NOW! I had seen Andrew play before and he'd perform a few Jack's Mannequin songs, but never anything from SC. Well today I was able to satisfy my inner teenager by finally seeing them live. One look of the setlist from a December show, and I knew I had to be there. Every song was a hit after hit and I realized that I knew them all almost by heart.

Just before the show, Andrew came out the side door on his way to dinner and high fived me and the fans around me. He was also kind enough to let me get a polaroid portrait of him against the wall before giving me a great dap and thanking me for being here. I wonder if he recognized the t-shirt I was wearing that I had gotten from my brother almost 20 years ago. Hard to believe I still have the shirt and in good condition. It is one of my favorite t-shirts and the photo might be my new favorite polaroid shot I've taken lately!

Well after getting inside, I unfortunately chose the wrong side to stand and wasn't able to see Andrew for most of the set because of the piano. It probably would have been better to be second row center or to the right hand side. I was bummed as the show started but soon found myself singing my heart out and just enjoying it for what it was.
