In this episode, we show off the inspiration for the Kentauri amplifier. The 5F2-A circuit(very close to the Champ AA764). A beautifully simple circuit that allows you to hear every little detail. Like plugging in a different tube allows so much nuance. A great teaching amplifier as well as endless mods for tone geeks.

In this video, we used an extra 12AX7 in the preamp section and an additional tube in the power section. An EL84 operating at the same time as an EL34. Also, we played with the FET circuit in the preamp section for a totally different type of distortion! Then we changed from a 4x12 Marshal cabinet to a single 12 Alnico blue 8ohm speaker for a more open and clean sound.
