FIVE HOURS aboard Canada's BEST FERRY (PEI to Quebec's Magdalen Islands aboard the Traversier CTMA)

Canada's most luxurious passenger ferry is definitely off the beaten path! Leaving the verdant isle of Prince Edward Island behind, I headed to the east coast port of Souris to catch the CTMA ferry for its afternoon sailing to Quebec's little-known and remote archipelago of Iles de la Madeleine (also known as the Magdalen Islands), located roughly halfway between PEI and Newfoundland, a FIVE HOUR ferry ride away. To say that I was excited to head to this secret "Canadian paradise" would be an understatement, as I've always wanted to explore this far-flung island paradise in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

In this video, I review my experiences sailing the five hours north of Souris to the port of Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec, in the heart of the Quebec Maritimes. This ferry is next level, featuring a full restaurant with reasonable prices, video game rooms with beanbag chairs, a cafe featuring a REAL Italian espresso machine, and plenty of modern seating and natural light to make the crossing the most comfortable expeirence possible. Need more room to relax? A private cabin with shower is a mere $60 add-on to the already low $39 one way shoulder season fare.

Upon arriving in the heart of the Magdalen Islands, I made my way to the beautiful and centrally-located Chateau Madelinot, where I had a delicious local microbrew and some of the best Quebecois poutine I've ever encountered, made with aged local cheese and some of the most delicious gravy you'll find in the province. It was the perfect beginning to my tour of this hidden island gem (stay tuned).
