ONE EAR IRRITATED AND NOT THE OTHER???

Описание к видео ONE EAR IRRITATED AND NOT THE OTHER???

Back when I used to pierce ears - one of the most common questions that people would come back and ask after they got pierced - why is one ear bothering her and not the other?

That's what we're going to be talking about today. Why one ear is bothering you and not the other.

First thing we would do is - look at the ear. What's wrong with the ear exactly? Is the ear red? Is the ear flaky? Are there any external bumps on the ear? Is the earring on too tight?

Often times people assume right away that it's the metal type BUT if it was the metal type 9/10 it would be bothering BOTH ears. A metal that bothers you in your right ear is often going to bother you in your left ear and vice versa.

If the ear is red and the other ear is not - that side is being favored and therefore becoming irritated. For example sleeping on one side! When I got my ears pierced - my right side was more irritated than my left side and that is because I sleep on my right. (also my mask would constantly get snagged on my earring) So what can you do about it? Some people sleep in an inclined position with an airplane pillow or put their ear in the donut hole of the airplane pillow.. Now I wouldn't do this for a kid obviously because babies can not sleep with anything in the crib.

If it's a kid - I would maybe switch to an earring that is more comfortable. I have a wholeeee video on different types of kids earrings and pros and cons to each in a separate video.

If there is a bump - are you sleeping with you hair wet? Wet hair can cause a blister like bump to form. Other reason for bumps again irritation - wrong jewelry, trauma, or how it was pierced.
Another bump that usually not red but the same as your skin tone is a keloid - which is scar tissue and at that point would be best to see a dermatologist.

Check to see if the earring is too tight. If the earring is on too tight, there may be swelling or maybe you have a thicker earlobe and just need a longer earring. Is the front of the earring digging into the skin or is the backing digging into the skin? Was the backing put on too tight. If this is the case - I would change the earring. If you can not get the earring off - do not be embarassed going to a piercer to remove the earring. It happens more times than you think.

I say all that to say - something is irritating that one ear and the key is figure out what it is and it's most likely not a metal allergy.
