Mower PTO Switch Melts and Mower Deck Remove, Husqvarna Craftsman. On this Husqvarna riding mower the PTO switch for the electric clutch kept getting hot and melting the switch and sometimes the plug as well. When it came to me I put in a new switch and checked current draw on the clutch. It showed 16 amps . I also took a ohms reading and it was 0000. The air gap on the electric clutch was not to large so i was sure the clutch was bad. The pto switch can get very hot if the clutch is going bad , like on this Husqvarna , and a lot of Craftsman riding mowers.
I also remove the mower deck on this Husqvarna in the video.
Test electric mower clutch, Pto switch melts.
