Nigeria's representative at the recently concluded Seventh World Choir Games in Cincinnati, USA, the Lagos City Chorale and Orchestra has won three silver medals in the folklore, sacred music and mixed chamber choir categories of the competition.
The Lagos City Chorale and Orchestra group was led by its Musical Director and Conductor, Emeka Nwokedi and participated in the contests with three hundred and fifty choirs from sixty-five countries.

According to sources, the choir was acknowledged to be a true reflection of Nigeria's cultural diversity in costume and musical presentation and attracted so much attention at the parade of participating nations during the competition.

Briefing about the events, Emeka Nwokedi said their success at the Seventh World Choir Games was as a result of careful planning and hard work that spanned many months of training. He observed that branding Nigeria's image globally needs to have multi-dimensional approach, involving different talents and endowments, especially in the fields of sports, music, arts and crafts.
He expressed the determination of the Lagos City Chorale and Orchestra to persist in winning laurels for Nigeria to uplift her image through music and cultural displays.
