DIY Natural and Toxic-Free Tallow Sunscreen

Ingredients:
16oz Grassfed Tallow
8oz Coconut Oil
4oz 100% real beeswax
4oz non-nano zinc oxide
3 Tablespoons cocoa powder for tint (optional!)
45 drops of essential oils of your choosing

Directions:

1. Combine all the ingredients (except essential oil!) in a pot and melt together on low over the stove top.

2. When everything is melted down, allow to cool for around 20 minutes (stirring occasionally).

3. You’ll know it’s cooled enough, because the mixture will stop splitting (separating) and it will thicken and stick to your spatula!

4. Now it’s time to add the optional essential oils (I added Plumeria today) and give it another good stir.

5. Now it’s ready to pour off into containers of your choosing. (I prefer metal containers for this, personally.)

5. Allow to fully sit up and you’re done!

(Yields approximately 12 (3oz) containers.

Notes-
*Coconut oil may be swapped out for another oil-but remember coconut oil also brings additional SPF
*Tinting your spf is optional
*The SPF of this is approximately 10. Meaning you will need to reapply often. You could figure the exact spf out using an equation, if you really wanted to.
*the expiration date is approximately a year if it lasts that long!
*All natural remedies are completely customizable! Have some fun with it!
