From the heart of Bessemer City, North Carolina Small Town Sunday brings a refreshing blend of faith, harmony, and heartfelt country soul to audiences everywhere. Rooted in their Christian faith and inspired by the rich sounds of ‘90s country greats like Little Texas, Diamond Rio, and BlackHawk, Small Town Sunday delivers a sound that feels both nostalgic and new — a timeless mix of tight harmonies, genuine storytelling, and uplifting messages of hope.
The group’s journey began in 2012, when Matthew Branch, Holly Branch, and Stephen Robertson first joined voices as the dynamic country vocal band Dixie Still. Over the years, their unmistakable blend of harmony elevated them to Country Group of the Year 2 years straight at The Carolina Music Awards & they performed alongside many top country acts such as Joe Diffey, BlackHawk & Chris Lane to name a few.
Their music & lives has evolved, leading them to a new season — and a new name that reflects their roots and purpose: Small Town Sunday.
Today, the band’s lineup includes:
-Matthew Branch (vocals, acoustic guitar)
Hometown: Bessemer City, NC
-Holly Robinson-Branch (vocals, graphic design & social media)
Hometown: Bessemer City, NC
-Stephen Robertson (vocals)
Hometown: Mt. Airy, NC (Mayberry)
-Preston Branch (piano/keys)
Hometown: Bessemer City, NC
-Jarrod Patton (bass guitar)
Hometown: Glen Alpine, NC
Together, they craft a sound that celebrates the simplicity of small-town life, the strength of family and faith, and the joy of worship through country music.
Their commitment to excellence and ministry has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Small Town Sunday was honored as Country/Gospel Group of the Year, and their music continues to make an impactacross Christian Country radio — with eight singles charting in the Top 10 on the Christian Country Charts, two of which reached #1.
Whether performing on a big stage or in a small church, Small Town Sunday’s mission remains the same: to point people toward Jesus through honest, heartfelt songs that connect with everyday life. Their music reminds listeners that no matter where you come from, faith, family, and a little bit of country harmony can go a long way.
