The The Tennessee Tech eSports club held a game day in the Tech Pride Room of the Roaden University Center. The “Button Mash Bash” is a combination of “League of Legends,” “Super Smash Bros” and other popular competitive esports game tournaments along with “Wii Sports,” “1, 2 Switch” and “Jackbox” events.

Club members brought their gaming PCs, laptops and consoles to play on, including the recently released Nintendo Switch. Funding for the event came from the SOLO Fund, which students may recognize as the main source of money which pays for a concert every semester.

Attendees could win prizes via a raffle. Prizes came from both the esports associaton Tespa and SOLO funding. Tespa helps college esports clubs and teams connect across the country.

The Button Mash Bash is a celebration of the end of the semester and the group’s first year as an official club.
