“Indian Exports are Sailing on the wave of growth. Get your investment on board this opportunity.” Is the tag line of the fund.

Indian exports are expected to grow at 15% C.A.G.R. Vs nominal GDP growth of 10% over 2023 to 2030.

India’s Nominal G.D.P at present is at 3.6 trillion dollars and this GDP is expected to grow till $7 trillion by 2030.

As of now, India’s product exports are at $442 billion and services exports are at $341 Billion.

combining these two export numbers. the total exports of India are about $783 billion as of now. and these are expected to grow to $2 trillion by 2030.

So this is the growth potential of exports expected by HSBC AMC.

Now, let us check the factors that drives the growth of exports in India.

1: India’s leadership in skilled and cost efficient labour.

2: Supportive government policies, reforms and incentives like P L I Schemes.

3: supply chain diversification

4: Evolution of Indian companies from cost arbitrage to value added solutions.

In this chart, we can observe, India’s GDP growing rapidly since 2003.

In 2003 India is in 12th place. Now India is in 5th place. Only next to Japan, Germany, China and USA.

It is projected that, by 2029, India’s GDP ranking will move to 3rd position surpassing Japan and Germany.

We can see here that China continues to be “World’s Export Factory since 2009”

And India's exports surged to 115 countries out of the total 238 countries during 2023-24.

Here we can see another important statement that “An economy that exports more may have potential to grow bigger over long run”

Few sectors in India or changing their strategies to become sunrise sectors. Sunrise sector means a sector that is expected to grow quickly and those kind of sectors as per the presentation are Telecom electronics, solar energy, components, auto mobiles, auto parts, advance and batteries, ceramic products, glassware, spices, and pharmaceutical drugs. These are expected to become sunrise sectors in India in future.

Currently India's share in world’s manufacturing is less than 3% and India is aiming to go to get atleast a share of 5% of the worlds manufacturing by 2030 and to 10% by 2047 and the government expects a growth of 15% CAGR in exports during a period of 2024 to 2030. Where government also expects services sector exports will grow faster than manufacturing exports
