Описание к видео Knight Lore - Versions Comparison - Meet the FATHER of ISOMETRIC games!!!

Comparison video of Knight Lore (Ultimate Play the Game 1984), featuring gameplay of the firsts minutes of the following versions:

0:00 ZX Spectrum (1984)
2:20 Amstrad CPC (1985)
4:57 BBC Micro (1985)
7:05 MSX (1985)
9:26 Family Computer Disk System / Famicom Disk System / FDS (1986)

Knight Lore used a novel image masking technique that allowed sprites to appear in front of others without colliding, creating an incredible sense of depth. Although it was not the first game to use isometric perspective, many critics consider that the technical solutions provided by the Stamper brothers' game laid the foundations for that graphic style.

We are aware that many unofficial versions and enhanced remakes of Knight Lore appeared, but we will cover them all in another video dedicated exclusively to its clones. This video only covers the OFFICIAL versions of the game.

The player, as Sabreman, has 40 days to collect items throughout Melkhior the Wizard's castle and prepare a cure for his curse that turns him into a werewolf at nightfall.
