Everyone has been looking for the Canon G7X mark iii autofocus fix since they 1st released the camera. And now with a new firmware update comes a new mode, designed for 'video blogging' which is supposed to address the autofocus issue.

The new mode is called VL mode and it's a fully automatic camera mode for shooting video. I had to put it to the test seeing as the bad autofocus is the MAJOR thing that stops the Canon G7X mark iii from being crowned the ultimate vlog camera.

So let's take a look at this new VL mode and compare it to the normal mode and see if we really do finally have a Canon G7X mark iii autofocus fix!
