"Surah Al-Inshiqaq: The Reckoning and The Rewards"

Surah Al-Inshiqaq describes the events of the Day of Judgment when the sky will split asunder and the earth will give up its contents. It highlights the contrasting fates of the righteous and the disbelievers: the former will receive an easy reckoning and rejoice, while the latter will face torment. The surah reminds humanity to believe in the truth of the Quran and prepare for the inevitable return to Allah.

📜 Translation:
In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.

Verse 1: When the sky is split asunder,
Verse 2: Hearing its Lord, as it must;
Verse 3: When the earth is spread out,
Verse 4: Casting out its contents, empty,
Verse 5: Hearing its Lord, as it must;
Verse 6: You humans—laboring toward your Lord—will meet Him.
Verse 7: Then those given their record in their right hand
Verse 8: Will have an easy reckoning
Verse 9: And will turn to their people rejoicing.
Verse 10: But those given their record behind their backs
Verse 11: Will cry for their end
Verse 12: And burn in blazing fire.
Verse 13: They went among their people rejoicing.
Verse 14: They thought they would never return [to Us].
Verse 15: But no—their Lord was always watching them.
Verse 16: I swear by the gleaming twilight,
Verse 17: By the night and what it enfolds,
Verse 18: By the moon in its fullness—
Verse 19: You will journey from stage to stage.
Verse 20: So why will they not believe?
Verse 21: And when the Qurʾan is read to them, why do they not bow down?
Verse 22: But no . . . the disbelievers deny it.
Verse 23: But God knows best what they keep within themselves.
Verse 24: So announce to them a painful torment,
Verse 25: Except for those who believe and do good deeds—theirs shall be a reward without end.

This surah emphasizes the inevitable meeting with Allah, the stark difference between the outcomes for the righteous and the disbelievers, and the certainty of the Day of Judgment.
