LAST-MINUTE ANTIQUE VINTAGE BUYING OPPORTUNITY | RESELLERS

Rain threats at my Ohio show sent me packing to the other side of the storm, to the town where Lincoln first served in the 1830s. After a surprising estate sale in the country ($13 spent for $100 value), we hit an antique shop full of surprise as well!

After a good show, I’m ready to hunt, and there’s some noteworthy finds and people along the way. Bronze scotty bookends, a true antique painted Good Luck mug, modernist Higgins glass and a Seminole doll end up at the counter…but we’re really just scratching the surface.

Expect the unexpected in this business! This day, the store was busy, and seeing people getting excited and finding things was (almost) enough to make up for the fact that they got some things I'd have taken myself! Paint by numbers, childrens books, dog figurines, a Red Wing vase, southwestern ceramics, silver jewelry and a really great quilt all go ahead of me, along with a really cool sewing stand with 'hidden' drawer.

The atmosphere is fun when a bunch of happy collectors gather, and their diverse interests and worlds collide. Even the shop dog is having fun! Surprise finds keep coming here, at a place I'm sure I'll hit again when I'm in the area...which seems destined to be a poorly kept secret.

1930s luster smoking accessories; Florida flamingo box; bakelite horse pin; 1980s art tile; 1970s flamingo lamp; 1950s panther figure; Sharon Rose plates; etc.
