Mantic Games: Nightstalker Dreadfiend unboxed!

So after a few weeks of samurai related models, let's take it in another direction and have nothing but gribbly creepy crawler monsters!
The Nightstalker Dreadfiend is the perfect model to get things rolling. Too many legs, tails, and teeth- just the thing for a Nightstalker army in Kings of War!
The embedded skulls or souls give a very Lovecraftian vibe, as well as the large eyeless face. The face (and overall design) harkens back to the Stygian Hammerhead from Chronopia- the creature whose name I couldn't remember, that game with the Dwarf Talon Gate papercraft terrain set. In fact the more I look at the two of them side by side in photos, the more I wonder if this was an intentional nod to the old model. There's definitely some similarities.
Thankfully all those limbs manage to actually keep the thing balanced. I was afraind (in fact I'm always afraid) that multi- limbed models will have difficulty maintaining balance. Thankfully this thing doesn't have that issue, and the legs that need to be on the ground are actually flattened so as to help better support it.
On initial pictures I was worried it was a bit smaller than I'd hoped. It includes a 50mm base but it overhands in nearly every direction. So much so you could mount it on a larger base and nobody would bat an eye. Why you'd want to is a whole other issue if you're playing KoW proper...
I'm curious as to what this things stats are, and if I can get away with including it in a game of Vanguard. I guess it's time to finally unearth my Vanguard pledge and get to work on it...
