Start by heading to the SW of the Spaceport and into the Sewers, head to side at the split to find Naz and talk to him then arrive in Gothic.
Buy new equipment. The Axe is a worthy upgrade now. Focusing down enemies is probably the option for a while.

Dr. Luveno's house has the red roof to the S and you won't find him, but will find a Prison Key. Help the Grey hooded people by giving them the cheap healing items they need in exchange for info, importantly about Triada Prison along the coast, but also about a Gorgon living nearby. I grind quickly to level 20 and then heal and head off.

Head S and then W along the coast, then N, E and N across some purple damaging floor to reach Bortevo Cave and unlock Bortevo as a destination to warp to for later. Speak about the junk with the NPCs whilst here too. THen warp back to Gothic and heal up. The Prison is SW as soon as you head to the coast SE of Gothic.

Head N to be halted by a Robocop and head E at the split. Go off every split speaking to the prisoners and then find a Silver Fang upgrade for Myau. You'll find someone from Bortevo in the E most cell who moved to Gothic and ended up in prison.

Now head back W and take the door through. Head through the splits to talk to prisoners again in the next section. The prisoner in the second tells you about Medusa in Bortevo Cave and about the Volcano. The third has a chest with a Light Cape upgrade for Lutz and the fourh contains Dr. Luveno who agrees to make you a spaceship if you break him out and help him find parts. The final split has a Skeleton ambush, but search again for a 4,000 Meseta chest. Warp out and Warp to Gothix. Speak to Dr. Luveno in Gothic and he'll talk about his missing assistant, and talk to Naz in the Sewers so he'll return.

Next up he wants 5,000 Mesetas which you should easily have thanks to the 4,000 Meseta chest (plus every fight and selling old gear). When you speak to Dr. Luveno you'll get a lot of repeated lines and at first the story won't progress. He'll keep repeating that "Patience is a Virtue". I tried a lot of different things including flying to planets, leaving and coming back, but I'm not sure what the actual trigger was. I actually left the game for a minute or so and perhaps the trigger was gameplay time advancing a few minutes or something?

Then in Bortevo Alisa mentions Hapsby being in a certain junk pile and again I was slightly confused about how I advanced the story here (it was instantaneous in the original without having to talk to certain NPCs). Speak to Lex until he mentions the cops tossing out a laconian robot and he'll mention Girling. Girling is in the NE and he'll mention needing polymetryl from Abion and he hands you a Bortevo Key.

Head to Bortevo Cave.

Ignore the first split and take head round the corner to find a 3,000 Meseta chest, then head back to the split and take it. Myau in combat is best served to buffing Tyrone and Alisa for longer fights from now on and healing when needed, against weaker enemies just fight with him too.

Head all the way W and then S and follow the path to a Ceramic Sword chest. Head back and take the split you ignored and head N all the way then E for a 4,000 Meseta Chest. Head S and then W at the split we just ignored to a four way split. Head S W N at splits for a Rifle for Tyrone then head back to the four way split and head N.

You'll find the person who sold the Laconian Pot locked up here by a Mad Doctor, so we let him go. Head to the four way split and take the remaining W split to leave the Cave. Head NE and E along the N side of the lake ahd head further E to reach Loar.

Upgrade your equipment and speak to NPCs. One in the SW house will mention a store in Abion selling polymetryl, but begs you not to go. You're also told about a Mad Doc catnapping, trying to find Myau.

Heal and save here to end the part.
