Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor received a very special birthday gift from New Zealand - 10 native New Zealand trees through the Kiwi charity, Trees That Count!

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern gifted the planting of these trees to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and joined Wellington families to plant Archie's trees in June 2019. Thousands of other native trees were planted at the same event in honour of other special babies throughout New Zealand.

Trees That Count is a New Zealand conservation charity bringing together business, community and everyday New Zealanders, with the vision of helping plant 200 million native trees across the country for climate change, biodiversity and environmental education. The charity raises funds for planting groups to help them accelerate their projects. Visit www.treesthatcount.co.nz for more info.

The planting event supported the Forest at the Heart of Wellington project – a partnership between the Rotary Club, Wellington City Council and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand. This valuable project is working to restore indigenous biodiversity across the Wellington Town Belt.

Trees That Count is supported by philanthropic trust The Tindall Foundation and the New Zealand Government’s forestry department, Te Uru Rākau.
