✦ KASA artist bio ✦

KASA is a Japanese-Filipino singer/songwriter based and raised in Hong Kong. His deep love for Hong Kong’s local community can be reflected in his other musical projects and professional work. KASA is the lead vocalist of local bands ‘Seasons for Change’ and ‘Soul of Ears’ and he is a local secondary school teacher.

KASA is also an active topline writer and voice actor. His most notable topline accomplishment was with SM ENTERTAINMENT's (Korea) EXO member XIUMIN's first single titled 'Beyond' which he is credited for melody & lyrics. His love of anime and manga was what got him into doing freelance Japanese voiceover work.

His mother’s unexpected death in September 2021 led him to start a project with his father under the name ‘朝香康太’ (Asaka Kouta), channelling their grief, trauma and love through song and poetry whilst also honouring mother’s wishes. Their first single ‘Tokyo Together’ will be released on Christmas eve.

KASA’s first EP titled ‘Wide Asleep’ contains 4 lo-fi tracks that sonically reflect his almost numb state of mind at the end of 2021. His follow-up single ‘-30’ is an emotional lo-fi track about starting his 30s grieving the loss of his mother.

‘Clocks’ is the first single off his 2nd EP. With his revived confidence and motivation, KASA promises to deliver new songs regularly in 2023.

KASAはフィリピンで生まれ、3歳まで日本で育ち、その後香港に移住し現在まで香港を拠点に活動している日系フィリピン人のシンガーソングライターです。彼の香港コミュニティに対する愛情は深く、それは彼の他の音楽プロジェクトや専門的な仕事にも反映されています。KASAは香港の2つのバンド、『Seasons for change』そして『Soul of Ears』のリードヴォーカルとして活動している。また地元香港の中学では教師として英語を教えている。
