Shot in a single shot. A poor little girl with only one shoe sits in a corner along a street selling matches. After being ignored by a wealthy gentleman, she is made the object of a snowball shot by a street urchin who also steals her other shoe. A street lighting worker turns on a lamp. The little girl is now alone and cold and she lights the lighters to keep warm. First she has a vision of a fireplace with a crackling fire, at the second match she sees a table set with a lot of turkey that approaches her before disappearing as the flame goes out. On the third, an illuminated Christmas tree appears, while subsequently he sees a woman (in the original fairy tale it is specified that it is the dead grandmother) ready to hug her and the child lights up all the remaining matches to keep the vision as long as possible. Cold, she dies as the snow falls abundantly and her grandmother's angel appears, carrying her granddaughter's soul to Heaven. Shortly after, a policeman discovers, illuminating it with a flashlight, the body of the little girl, who died smiling.
