Bến Thành Market, the biggest market in Saigon. More than 3,000 stalls are roughly grouped into products of different kinds, mostly clothing but also food, hardware, shoes, bags, jewelry, lacquerware, ceramics, souvenirs, and much more. Yes it is a little bit more touristic than a true local market, but because it's touristic, the friendly sales clerks here in the market speak a little bit of English, which is a real advantage for the visitor.
Of course you must bargain, so you want to do some price comparison -- one stall might sell T-shirts for $5 and another could be selling them for $2. Nearly all the clothing is manufactured in Vietnam so you know you're getting a good deal.
Everything in this market is negotiable you don't want to pay the list price. Get them down at least 20% may be 30, 40% or more if you're buying in volume, and they don't mind if you are offering a lowball offer, that's okay, it's all part of the game here, part of the sport.
