School administrators are aiming to stay motivated. They're preparing students for live state testing. Third 9 weeks benchmark tests are in progress. Results will give the district valid data to compare to the previous year. And they will document strengths and weaknesses. Officials are encouraging students to be at school daily.
Dr. Debra dace/ superintendent: so we do want to remind parents regarding state assessments.that all those previous third grade assessments such as the third grade gate assessments have been waiver in previous years due to covid-19. This year those assessments will count. In other words, our third graders must pass the third grade gate. And that means they must receive a score of 3 or better in order to be promoted to the 4th grade.
Latanya calhoun/ chief academic officer: we're preparing our students and staff for this live state testing. We're encouraging our students to definitely come to school every day daily so we can meet our every day requirement the state requires us to have. All schools are implementing a plan for students and staff to keep every one motivated.
Data has shown that the district is displaying growth and moving in a positive direction. The benchmark tests started on March 1st and will continue until March the 11th
