At the same time, she promotes the meaningful inclusion of all children in early childhood education, their schools and community. Kerry has a long history of being an active advocate in the early childhood intervention sector to government and community, supporting efforts to provide equity of access to quality services based on evidence-based practices early in a child’s life.

This workshop will be a time for you to reflect on what you want your child’s early childhood intervention to achieve as well as what you want next for your child and your family. We will start by providing you with up-to-date evidence about how early childhood intervention makes a difference in a child and families’ life. Parent and carers have many decisions to make and many options to choose from. Even the latest NDIS Independent Review says that families find it challenging to know where to go to find out what is available, and then what to choose. We will provide you with strategies to help you do this so you know:

1. what is recognised as best practice in early childhood intervention
2. key recommendations from the different disciplines that provide early childhood intervention
3. what we have learnt about from the NDIS Review that children and families need
4. what families tell us about their experiences

Down Syndrome NSW is the peak body for Down syndrome. We work with pride to support people with Down syndrome to reach their full potential in all life stages.

We champion the rights of people with Down syndrome to be valued and to take their rightful place in the community.
