1996 SeaDoo Gti Wear Ring Replacement and Pump Reconditioning

Описание к видео 1996 SeaDoo Gti Wear Ring Replacement and Pump Reconditioning

Please note that I have a complete step by step video on how to get the jet pump off the hull, here is a link,    • Step by Step Removal of Sea Doo Jet Pump

This is a step by step video on how to replace a SeaDoo wear ring. This pump is off a 1996 SeaDoo Gti, but this method will be similar or the same for most models of SeaDoo watercraft and jet boats. I thought I would showcase this pump because it was in particularly bad shape with the wear ring completely sheared off and jammed into the vanes of the pump. This is a typical example of what I find with customers that leave their SeaDoo beached overnight or through the day in an area that receives regular wake. The up and down movement of the hull against the bottom of the beach forces rocks and debris to be jammed through the intake, and subsequently sucked through the pump on startup, effectively destroying the wear ring, and in some extreme cases like this one, potentially ruining the pump for good. This video is not just about the wear ring though, I also remove some of the pump parts, bears and inspect them for damage, and well as do a quick reconditioning of the impeller and pump vanes, as they have been beaten with rocks. Obviously it is better to replace these parts, but this pump is off an older machine that is likely on its last legs anyways, and the budget is not there to fix it, so I am really just trying to fix this as cheap as possible.

Liking and sharing my videos really helps with the process of making more.
