The Federal Government has announced the appointment of Dr. Donald Ofili as the Acting Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), following the passing of the council's former Registrar, Prof. Tosan Erhabor.

The appointment was approved by the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, in a letter conveying Dr. Ofili's new role. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Ofili served as the Deputy Registrar and most senior Director at MLSCN, where he had been overseeing the council's affairs since Prof. Erhabor's demise.

Dr. Ofili holds a doctorate in Haematology and is a Fellow of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and the West African Postgraduate College of Medical Laboratory Science. He is also a member of several national and international technical working groups.

A seasoned Medical Laboratory Scientist with extensive experience, Dr. Ofili is known for upholding the highest level of professionalism in his work. He has overseen key programs, including MLSCN's Continuous Quality Improvement initiative and the National External Quality Assessment Laboratory (NEQAL) in Zaria.
