The Evolution of Toasters | The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation

Описание к видео The Evolution of Toasters | The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation

Mo Rocca talks with Jeanie Miller, curator of domestic life at The Henry Ford, about the evolution of toasters. Toasters weren't always of the pop-up kind. Some of the earliest toasters were apparatuses that used heat from a fire to toast bread.

The first electric toasters were invented in 1910. However, they didn't become popular until the 1920s, when more homes were being built fit for electricity.

The pop-up toaster made its debut in 1926 with the Toastmaster. It would take another 23 years until the first fully automatic pop-up toaster was introduced.
