Scenic Ridge #3 Switches and Switch Machines

Описание к видео Scenic Ridge #3 Switches and Switch Machines

This is the third video in a 7-part series discussing my construction of the N-Scale Scenic Ridge layout (from Woodland Scenics). The series is aimed at a beginner model railroader, but there are a lot of hints for those with more experience.
The outline of this video series is as follows:
1. Introduction to Layout and Base Construction
2. Track Laying and Wiring
3. Switches (Turnouts) and Switch (Turnout) Motors (this video)
4. Outer Walls, Bridges and Tunnels
5. Terrain Supports and Plaster Cloth
6. Roads and Buildings
7. Final Scenery: Ballast, Ground Cover, Trees, River, Rocks

This video discusses switches (turnouts), switch (turnout) remote machines, and wiring them all together to a switch control panel. I will show how I use telephone cable, connectors, and plugs to make secure connections between my switches and the panel. I'm using Atlas track for my version of the Scenic Ridge and this video will concentrate on Atlas switches. This makes remote operations possible.

I use telephone cable, plugs, and couplers to connect the switch machines to my control panel. I also discuss their use and tools needed here.
