This time, I only had one student in class - and since we normally break into two groups to enable the dancers to give each other feedback, I recorded the two of us and we watched each other's dance afterward and discussed. This exercise is all about embodying one of the two animals that inspire a lot of sexy dance movement - the tiger or the snake/serpent. The visualization can really open up a student's sensual toolbox. We try to bring the Natural Geographic movies to life a bit... Having an animal to embody and climb inside of makes me so much more creative and willing to get weird. This is one of my favorite exercises.
