EVA Air, a member of Star Alliance is rated a 5-star airlines. It's a Taiwanese international airline based at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), operating flights to over 40 international destinations in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.

This is my second time flying with EVA Air and they still keep their service and quality above par. My first experience with Eva Air was back in 2018 when I travelled to New York (JFK) via Taipei (TPE). The service was almost impeccable. Cabin crew are so friendly and gentle. The service provided was quite similar to what I usually experience whenever I flew with Singapore Airlines. However, I can't remember clearly if there was any hot towel service upon boarding and before the second meal was served.

Kuala Lumpur to Taipei is usually operated by A330-300. Before my flight, I kept checking for the flight and fleet info. I always wanted to try boarding an EVA Air's Hello Kitty livery or their latest 787-9 and 787-10 (I have been dreaming too much about this). I was quite overjoyed when they finally changed from Airbus to Boeing. It's a rare sight in most of the airline industries nowadays to have 9 (3-3-3) instead of 10 (3-4-3) seats in one row. 3-3-3 configuration gives passengers at least an inch extra which guarantees better comfort level of flying. However, please note that, there are about 10 EVA Air's 777-300ER are already transformed to 3-4-3 (10 seats in one row). For more accurate information, kindly refer to EVA Air's official website.

As for this flight, pillow and earphone are already prepared at the seats. There is no hot/cold towel service provided on this flight. The flight was quite empty in fact. After airborne, cabin crew commenced the first round of beverage service which comes along with a packet of snack. I find it very delicious. It was then followed by a 2-choice meal service (lunch). The meal was delicious. To my surprise, a dental floss is found on the meal tray. It's a very nice of Eva Air to provide economy class passengers a dental floss. After the meal service, I flipped and read my all-time favourite inflight magazine. I also tried my luck by asking the cabin crew if there was any souvenir available. She then gave me some playing cards.

Lavatories are stocked up with very nice bottles of amenities (cologne, lotion, handwash and mist). Eyeshades, earplugs and toothbrushes are available on long-haul flight. I noticed the crew were less engaged with the passengers but it can be understood due to the pandemic. The biggest letdown is no cup holder. Anyway, I still find their service excellent, nothing major to complain. Have you ever flown with EVA Air? Will you recommend this airline to the others?
