The story is written by a prominent writer Mrs. Sivasankari. She is very famous in Tamil literature in non-fiction, travel, biography genre. She has thirty novels, thirteen travelogs and one hundred and fifty short stories to her credit. Many of them have been translated into English and other languages. Her ambitious project "Knit India Through Literature" has attracted national attention in India.

"Trunkcall" story in brief:

This story is about the times when communication technology was still evolving. In those times, making a phone from one city to another required a huge effort known as making a 'Trunk call'. It involved first getting the receiver to the phone booth followed by a second call to speak to them. The story depicts the emotions of a young married woman concerned about her life travails keeping her away to care for her personal beauty on receiving one such Trunk call!!!!
