Welcome back to the channel, I’m Jacob Fisher and today we are going back into the world of options because I think it’s time for a little update on my previous video. Things have changed since the whole gamestop situation and not really for the better. I guess in some ways they haven’t gotten worse, but Robinhood should no longer be looked at if you want to trade options with your money.

I thought it would be good to go over some low cost brokers first and then get into the brokers that won’t let you down when it comes to trading options. On another note, make sure you use a cash account when trading options if you are day trading them. Options settle T+1, which means you can buy and sell $1000 of TSLA calls on Monday then turn around and do it again on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday without being restricted by the pattern day trading rule.

First we have WeBull, if you are looking for a broker that doesn’t charge any commissions then you are left with only one choice, which is WeBull. They have a more confusing interface than using Robinhood, but I don’t personally want to use a broker to trade options that restricts what I can and can’t trade.

Let’s move into the next best brokers, but one that costs money. It is tastyworks and they have a very sophisticated platform. I am a huge fan of their platform and they just offer a slew of benefits to analyze each trade. It takes awhile to get used to all the features they have, but once you do, you’ll always want what they offer.

Now we can group together TD and Etrade because both offer similar things when it comes to options. ETrade can be slightly cheaper than TD if you trade 30+ trades in a quarter for 0.50 per contract per side vs 0.65 with TD. They are both okay, they provide great technical data on the chance of profit and more, but I have run into some issues with ETrade thinking orders would fill and they just didn’t.

The first one is the one I currently use if I ever place an option trade. It’s been getting less and less recently, but I am still using them about once a week. It’s tradestation and they are pretty great. Their commissions are 0.60 per contract, but the commissions are easily worth it to get filled in some situations when I just would not have with ETrade.

They offer the tradestation desktop application, which is another great application for those looking for advanced software. You can see a slightly more in depth review in the corner. It’s a perfect broker for those looking to get those better fills and quicker execution to make quick trade.

Moving on, we have the top broker before you get into super specialized brokers. It’s interactive brokers. This broker allows things like direct routing and incredibly cheap option contracts for volume traders. Interactive Brokers offers lots of things for advanced routing and more, depending on what you are looking for and they have a great platform.

They are a great option for those high volume traders because of low cost contracts and various data streams you can pay for with them. They also have quite the volume of money behind them since they’ve been around for a while and many top trading professionals still enjoy using them.
