General Motors is taking electrification seriously and Cadillac, moving forward, will only be introducing fully electric vehicles. The Lyriq, their newest mid-size SUV shows, in a way, what the brand ’s future will look like and what to expect. So, let’s talk about it!

Based on a dedicated EV platform called Ultium, which will underpin a lot vehicles from GM (Chevy Blazer EV, Cadillac Equinox EV) as well as Honda (Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX), the Lyriq features a 102 kWh battery pack that can be combined with a 340 hp single-motor RWD offering up to 314 miles on full charge or a dual motor AWD with 500 hp and 307 miles of range.

There are no changes to the 2025 model. Other luxury electric SUVs to consider are an Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX, Mercedes EQE SUV, Tesla Model Y, Rivian R1S, or a Volvo EX90.
